Overview
Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in engineering with over 24 years of practicing his qualifications in the fields of structural, civil, aeronautical, and information systems engineering. During this time, Hacène filled various senior roles such as Technical Director (2 roles), National Technical Manager, Specification Engineer, Project Manager, Design Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, etc.
Proven experience in the construction industry where he accumulated a dozen of other qualifications in different specialised areas of engineering and construction including structural, precast concrete, GRC, civil, concrete waterproofing, and remediation during which time he received his professional membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia over a decade ago. One of the projects Hacène worked on received the “House of the Year 2011 Award” in the World Architectural Festival for “smallest vertical house” in Surry Hills Sydney. His role comprised overseeing the project engineering, production, and management for the entirety of the design and construction of the project.
Experiences and Technical Abilities
- Concrete Waterproofing: Deep understanding of concrete waterproofing and concrete remediation below and above ground.
- Concrete: Solid understanding of Concrete technology, concrete mixes, concrete behaviour, concrete optimisation, and repair methodologies.
- Remedial: Extensive experience with site investigations to assess and understand the sources of the defective issues, followed by the preparation of comprehensive reports, and the design of detailed repair methodologies that comply with the Australian Standards, NCC, and D&BP Act.
- Engineering: Structural, civil, aeronautical, and software engineering.
- The Compliances: Solid knowledge of the Australian Standards, BS 8102, the NCC, the RMS B80, VicRoads, and TMR specifications.
- Project Management: Managing the various directional management across internal and external teams on various construction projects including residential, commercial, bridges, stadiums, hospitals, etc.
- Precast: Thorough knowledge of and experience in the precast elements from start to finish.
- Problem-Solving: Innovative problem-solving, drawing insights from research, and analysis to create process and project maps, business cases, continuous improvement, and impactful solutions that achieve exceptional ROI with high attention to detail.
Industry Experience
Hacène has extensive experience in various countries including Algeria, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, and Australia. The majority of his experience was acquired in different states and territories of Australia. Throughout his career with various companies, he has been involved in designing waterproofing systems for new constructions and remedial specifications for existing structures in over 200 projects across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. Additionally, he has successfully managed and project-engineered more than 400 projects, which includes specifying concrete repair methods for TfNSW, VicRoads, and TMR.
